In the framework of the project 75 volunteers planted 1,750 pine trees in the area of 4 ha, which will facilitate reduction of 4 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Project experts conducted a study about public awareness in climate change and biodiversity conservation. To raise public awareness on the importance of green areas the project team carried out a round table discussion, public hearings, two workshops with 350 participants and a tour to Novhorod-Siversk Research Center involving more than 70 people. In addition, more than 400 members of public planted trees in the forest. The project developed and distributed among local population brochures on the national environmental network and leaflets on the importance of forests.
