Development of green tourism in Bereg village
The project aims for the development of green tourism and raising awareness of the sustainable use of natural resources. In this context the energy saving measures will be introduced in the green tourism area/buildings, established in the framework of the Project. .
The project foresees the demonstrational-investment activities, increase public awareness about ecotourism and its features, benefits, feasibility and profitability at the same time protecting environment.
The aim is to show on the example of the introduction of camping for 15 guests that ecotourism is environmentally friendly and economically promising activity. In the course of the project it is intended to implement a number of tasks, including establishing partnerships with the communities, village councils and local businessmen. Another activity is creation of the energy efficient camping for 15 guests, namely the reconstruction of facilities, improve communications and more. The information on the CC, energy efficiency measures and promotion of the ecotourism in the Bereg village will be described in the flyers, brochures, training energy efficiency seminars, other public events. .
The following activities will be held within the project:
1 st phase of the project will increase public awareness about energy efficiency and ecotourism. As part of this stage public hearings will be held. During the discussion public will be informed that new jobs to be created, especially for women in the sphere of tourism. Within this phase of the project brochures and flyers will be produced including the information from local households and distributed, seminars on the prospects for green tourism in the region will be carried out. Brochures about the region attractiveness, nature, scenic spots will be produced for further distribution and visitors’ attrection.
The next phase is aimed to reconstruct destroyed existing facilities by JSC "Rivne RMS” for creation of camping in accordance with the energy efficient standards. For this phase the following work will be conducted:
- Replacement of existing roof taking into consideration energy saving technologies (roof insulation mineral wool ceiling, conducting special works, etc.).
- Replacement of the existing windows with new energy-saving (17 pc) and replacement of old doors.
- Reconstruction of heating system (replacing the old heating system, new energy effective, namely the installation of modern heating appliances, fixtures, a new pipeline, installing a boiler with a higher efficiency and consume less fuel pump to improve water circulation in the system and another under the project.) To work will involve local population.
- Reconstruction of ventilation system (the installation system of air to maintain comfortable conditions).
- Reconstruction of water supply and sanitation, according to project estimates.
- Reconstruction of electricity (replacing wiring, installation of energy saving lights, according to project estimates).
- Conduct a decorative finishing works under the project estimates.
- Improving the recreation and nearby area.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Two seminars during the Project cycle will be held where the public will be informed about the results of the project, environmental and economic effects of the introduction of the object. Each stage of the project will be shown in local media. After camping construction pupils from the nearest schools will be invited to the camping to spend vocations and the NGO “Ukrainian society for nature protection” will conduct Ecological retreats for school children there. It is expected that more than 400 children from low income families will visit Bereg village camping. The project will be illustrative example of the use of natural resources for the benefit of population and creating minimum harm to the environment.
