- Wind power generator unit 'Viter 2-40-5' was purchased, installed and put into operation in Bryanka children’s hospital, which allowed saving conventional power and using the electricity produced by the wind power generator as the key source in the periods of conventional electric power supply cutoff.
- Using the wind generator as an additional energy source allowed saving the funds equivalent to the cost of 500 kW monthly (about 480 UAH) in the hospital’s budget owing to lower electricity payment expenses.
- Using the wind generator, with 5.6 MW average annual power output, reduces annual atmospheric emissions by 10,080 t of CO2, 50.4 t of SO2, and 22.4 t of nitric oxides.
- The project raised public awareness on the climate change issues and the benefits of using alternative energy sources by means of developing and disseminating the brochure “Determining the climate change impact of renewable energy sources” (1,000 copies), the Guide for experts and individuals on the wind power production technology (1,000 copies), the Business Plan for wind-driven electric power production (1,000 copies), the working project “Installation of the wind generator in the territory of Bryanka children’s hospital” (1,000 copies), and the SGP project results and activities report (1,000 copies). The printed products were disseminated among the local population during public events and delivered to Luhansk oblast libraries.
- 14 public events were held, involving about 1,800 people, to raise public awareness on the climate change issues and the environmental and economic benefits from the use of alternative energy sources, including 1 project presentation, 2 round-tables, 2 public hearings, 5 environmental lessons, and 4 information workshops.
