Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
People’s lack of understanding of the important roles of biodiversity in their lives and livelihood leads to unacceptable behavior and attitude towards its conservation. Increased pressure on ecosystems means that there will always be conflict between people need and the need to conserve species and their habitat. Loss of biodiversity and habitat degradation is a global problem which in the local context leads to impoverishment of culture, landscape, nature and livelihoods. This project seeks to reverse the trend by helping local schools and their communities learn to live sustainably to ensure that habitats and biodiversity are there for future generations to enjoy and ecologically benefit from them.
