The Ruko community Wildlife Conservancy will install a solar-powered system to increase the availability of water for their scouts as well as for the livestock and the wildlife. Increased availability of water will reduce the wildlife/livestock conflicts and will also facilitate the work of the scouts, whose responsibility is to ensure security and wildlife protection.

Gender Focus
A secondary outcome of the water is availability of water for households. The key beneficiaries of this outcome will be women, who currently spend alot of their time and energy searching for water.
Notable Community Participation
The Ruko community Conservancy was established by community members and it is they who requested for funds to install a solar system for pumping water to reduce human/wildlife conflict and livestock/wildlife conflict.
