Roof Water Harvesting for Backyard Gardening in Gakutlo
The purpose of the project is twofold, firstly it intends to introduce rainwater harvesting for adapting against the adverse effects of climate change which has resulted in reduced amount of rainfall for arable farming in this area.. The other challenge is to reduce poverty by way of introducing simple low head drip irrigation technology for backyard gardening.

According to the results obtained from the needs assessment study there is definitely a need to scale up the Rain Water Harvesting project. The community was very interested in the proposed project Yes, there are plans to scale up the Rain Water Harvesting projectnto a medium sized GEF grant.

At this stage there we have not yet widely consulted for the Scaling up of the project with other financers.
