Promotion of Low Cost Wind Turbines and Biogas Technologies as a means of Combating Climate Change in Northern Mt. Kenya
A local NGO promoting adoption of renewable energy technologoes namely, 1) household biogas for 40 households 2) low cost wind power for 5 local institutions and communal facilities. The project will also establish 40 woodlots each with 400 trees to help sequester carbon and provide a renewable source of fuel wood.

Project sustainability
The community will be trained to maintain the biogas units and the wind turbines so that clean, renewable energy can continue to be generated long after the project period comes to and end. The woodlots will also provide a sustainable source of fuel wood on a long-term basis.

The project is focus on sustainable livelihoods through the use of clean, renewable energy generated through wind turbines and biogas plants. In addition, woodlots are being established to provide a sustainable source of fuel wood.
