Community Mangrove and Coconut Rehabilitation Initiative
Spearheaded by the National Council of Women in Tuvalu the project aims to sustain and increase the conservation of mangrove belts in the outer islands through better management of existing mangrove and mulberry trees and extensive tree replanting including coconut trees, in areas where tree stocks have declined been seriously degraded or destroyed through over use. The first phase is training in tree replanting at the community level, collection and growing of seedlings and finally the replanting of mangroves, Indian Mulberry and coconut trees
