Sustainable Water Use and Management Project
The Project addresses two major areas of concern; alleviation of coastal and marine pollution through poor wastewater and solid waste management, and the safeguard of ground waterquality. Project activities include the replacement of poor sanitation facilities by sustainable and environmentally friendly disposal facilities, as well as the support of these facilities by renewable energy systems.This project is a demonstration project targetting a school facility.

Notable Community Participation
The construction work will be carried out by the SHHS carpenter and the community or parents who wish to participate. The students can also assist voluntarily after school and during school breaks. The Principal and CEO will work with the local authorities in: - getting building permits from the Council, - work with the Ministry of Education on the approved toilet standard, - getting permit for the collection of aggregates from the Ministry of Environment from Government approved sites, - arrange connections for electricity and sewerage from the Public Utilities Board, and - consult with Solar Company on the solar pump installation. The site where it was intended for the US Marine project will be used inside the school compound.
