Mucogomone Environmental Conservation Project in Imenti South
The project will help to rehabilitate quarry areas that experience extensive erosion during the rainy season by planting trees, especially in riparian areas. The project will also create new tree nurseries and expand existing tree nurseries as a source for seedlings in the project areas. In order to meet the demand for firewood and wood for construction purposes, woodlots will also be established to reduce the dependence of local communities on the Mt. Kenya forest.
