North Tarawa Community Marine Biodiversity Conservation
This project intends to firstly explore the status of marine resources of North Tarawa by conducting underwater visual census and socio-economic surveys. Secondly they aim to build and strengthen the capacity of communities to make management decisions and alleviate depletion of coastal resources. This project expects to have a positive impact on the marine environment with regards to sustainable use and protection of particular reef areas and over fished and/or vulnerable species. The project will be a collaborative effort between partners from ThEcoCare, ETC, government agencies and the North Tarawa community.
