Palestinian Environmental Guards
The project main aim is to develop the health and environmental conditions resulting from the environmentally unsound assaults of different wastes and recycling them in an aesthetic way that contributes to the development of women?s participation in the environmental and economic fields.
Main activities:
1-Conduct introductory awareness workshop ?3 hours? to introduce the project to the local community and relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions and to present the environmental problems and the role of women to protect Wadi AlQuf reserve. .
2-Conduct capacity building programme: 45 training hours for 45 women and young girls from Tarqumia and Beit Kahel villages ?near Wadi al-Quff reserve in the western part of Hebron governorate. The training has three courses, 45 hours for each course, (5 hours*9 days). The outlines of the capacity building training are:
*Definition of protected areas and the negative effects of the waste on environment and human health.
*Gender and the role of women in protecting the environment.
*Environmental development roles and mechanisms in order to enhance accountable decision making in the Palestinian government and the private sector about their role in protecting and preserving Wadi AlQuff reserve,
3-Conduct ?3 x 4 hours? interaction dialogue and accountability sessions with decision makers in governmental institutions including Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Local Government, Environmental Quality Authority, in addition to the private sector.
4-Produce one radio episode for 55 minutes in local radio stations and 55 minutes? in Pal estinian TV channels on the role of the decision makers on protecting the environment in Wadi AlQuf reserve,
6-Conduct 9 vocational training workshops, 3 hours per each workshop, for 45 women and young ladies to improve their skills on how to use and recycle wastes and how to develop income generating projects and how to market their products with partnership with private sector and governmental and non-governmental institutions?.
7- Implement small development, environment and income generation projects.
8-Conduct final closure exhibition, it will target 100 persons, 70 women and 30 men, to present and market women products

The 45 members of environment protectors councils in addition to other women participated in the accountability of the decision makers of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environmental Quality Authority, benefited from the accountability sessions about their role in providing practical mechanisms to protect the Wadi Al Quf reserve and highlighting the impact of women. 3. Women participated in the vocational training programme, on the recycling of awarded three income- generating environmental projects. There were awarded three income-generating environmental projects. There were 15 women in each group and were provided with all the equipment and machinery during the training. Then the women participated in the exhibition and presented their products.
