Natural and Agricultural Resource Management in Wadi Rajib
Wadi Rajib located in Ajloun is famous for its rich biodiversity and water springs, however in summer season local community of Wadi Rajib who are mostly farmers suffer from the shortage of water due to evaporation process and expand of agricultural practices in the area.
This project aims to:
- Enhance efficiency of rainwater usage through supporting farmers and local community members to execute small applicable projects.
- Enhance income of farmers and local community members and land productivity through several training.
- Develop the CBO production of soap knowing that all soap raw materials are available in the area such as herbs, olive oil, etc.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Five training workshops have been conducted for the local community members of Wadi Rajib SO FAR (updated on 21/8/2014); workshop on how to rationalize water consumption, grazing good practices and livestock vaccines, drip water irrigation system importance and benefits, conventional tillage and finally yoghurt production.
Notable Community Participation
Local community members were involved in the project from the very beginning as the CBO conducted several meeting with them in order to detect their needs to be addressed in the project proposal.
56 local community individuals; 20 males and 36 female benefited from and/ or participated in the project SO FAR (updated on 21/8/2014) either from small applicable project or capacity building workshops.
